Session 1

Group Launch Part 1

We hope your group is a place where you connect relationally and grow spiritually. During the next few months, you’ll explore topics related to life and faith but this session is all about getting to know one another.

Don’t have any new members in your group? Start with the Group Checkpoint for Session 1 instead.

Session 2

Group Launch Part 2

The goal of a group is to provide everyone the opportunity to pursue authentic community and spiritual growth.

Session 3

Friendology Part 1

In the beginning, the author of Genesis mentions a problem even before Adam and Eve commit the very first sin.” And it’s a problem that still gets in the way of developing thriving friendships.

Session 4

Friendology Part 2

Prioritizing the needs of a community of people above ourselves moves us toward the interdependence we need.

Session 5

Friendology Part 3

With our society as divided as ever, we—as Jesus followers—have the opportunity to model how to cultivate a culture of diverse friendships.

Session 6

Serve

A great way to bond as a group and be for the community is through serving. Visit our website to find opportunities we have through Gwinnett Church.

Session 7

Titus and Philemon Part 1

Paul wrote to his friend Philemon to ask him for something very specific—to welcome back a former slave named Onesimus. But this time, Paul wanted Philemon to view Onesimus not as a slave, but as a brother.

Session 8

Titus and Philemon Part 2

The Greek island of Crete had groups of Jesus followers who were trying to thrive but with limited success. Crete was a culture full of strong-willed personalities who did as they pleased, and the church there needed structure and leadership. Paul asked his friend Titus to help guide the church in Crete to spiritual health.

Session 10

The Book of John Part 1

In the Old Testament, God promised to use the nation of Israel to one day produce a king who would help restore a right relationship between God and people. Early in the book of John, the writer begins to make the case that Jesus is the king they have been hoping for over the centuries.

Note: Read John Chapters 1–12.

Session 11

The Book of John Part 2

In the second half of John, Jesus emphasizes that he is redefining what it means to be a ruler. While many hoped that Jesus would establish a kingdom through force, Jesus tried to communicate that he would be ushering in God’s Kingdom through serving.
