Wendy Lucero | Director of Community Groups

Wendy joined the staff of North Point Community Church in 2013. After leaving her corporate sales career, Wendy served on the Waumba Land Team and transitioned to the Groups Team five years ago. Wendy is Midwestern at heart. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs and graduated from Miami University in Ohio. Wendy is passionate about community and helping people learn more about who God created them to be. Her passion led her to earn a master's degree in spiritual formation and spiritual direction.

Wendy and Gary have been married since 2006 and met while competing in triathlons. They are raising two energetic tween boys, Holden and Reagan. They love family game nights, the beach, and caring for their cats. Wendy also enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time in nature.

Lynne Lipps | Women’s Groups Director

Lynne began attending North Point Community Church in 2000 and joined the staff of North Point Ministries in 2006. After leaving her corporate job in the training industry, Lynne managed the bookstore at Browns Bridge Church for six years before transitioning to the Groups Team at North Point Community Church. She’s been a Women’s Community Group leader since 2003 and feels God’s purpose for her life is to encourage women in their spiritual journeys. 

Lynne and Josh were married in 2018 after being introduced by a mutual friend. A few fun facts about Lynne: She has different color eyes, loves to travel (Bali, Hong Kong, Thailand), is adventurous (surfing Bondi Beach, hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro), and enjoys baking cupcakes.

Bill Opperman | Married Groups Director

Bill has been serving at North Point since 2015. He has been a pastor for 39 years. 

Bill is married to Donna and has two daughters, Megan and Kelsey, two sons-in-law, Colin and Byron, and two granddaughters, Campbell and Crue.

Things you might not know: Bill was born in Peru; he was a Canadian citizen and is now a proud American. He loves family vacations, golf, football, and hockey.

Jeremy Kirby | Men’s Groups Director

Jeremy has been on the Groups Team for almost a year. He has been a part of North Point Ministries for nearly ten years at North Point, Woodstock City, and a partner church. Originally from Calhoun, Georgia, Jeremy pastored his hometown church from 2017 to 2020.

Jeremy has been married to his wife Bekah in May 2011. Bekah is also on North Point staff. They have a dog named Oliver Griswold. You can find Jeremy at a baseball game, on a cruise ship, or planning any new adventure.

Dawn Codrington | Women’s Groups Director

Dawn joined the Groups Team in June 2022. She has served at North Point Community Church with her family since 2012. Dawn is married to Duane, and they have two teenagers, Samantha and Jon.

Dawn has worked in a variety of industries, from mental health to music and film to education. She is now working toward a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. Dawn has professional training in occupational therapy, groups processes, and emotional health. She grew up in South Africa, lived and worked in England, and has been involved in women’s ministry on three continents. Dawn is passionate about God, her family, her friendships, and her community. She loves connecting and serving our women’s group leaders.

Donna Vonfeldt | Community Groups Project Manager

Donna has been a part of the Groups Team since October 2023. Before joining the Groups Team, she worked in Ministry Services at Browns Bridge Church and North Point Community Church for over 15 years. She’s been involved in Community Groups since 2001 and has often led women’s groups.

Donna has two grown children: Rachel (husband Dale) and Andrew (wife Lauren). She enjoys live music/entertainment, traveling, the beach, and time with family. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her two young grandchildren, the apples of her eye.
