In this training John Woodall explores how important it is for leaders to remain spiritually nourished by staying connected with God. Leaders are supposed to monitor and encourage the spiritual growth of everyone in their group. But you can't lead others down a path that you aren't on.
In John 15, Jesus uses the metaphor of a vine and branches to instruct his followers to “abide.” When we stay connected to Jesus in this way, we welcome God’s work in us and through us.
Are you staying rooted in your relationship with Jesus Christ, realizing that apart from him you can do nothing?
Try Doing These Things:
- If you aren't already doing so, regularly practice private disciplines like reading the Bible and praying.
- Take the Spiritual Pathways Assessment. It can help you learn new ways to connect with God.
- Be intentional about identifying your best next step in your spiritual growth.
