group launch!

Group Launch will take place in the Auditorium at Buckhead Church.     
Group Launch Week: February 5–10
Leaders Arrive: 7:00 p.m.
Doors Open: 7:30 p.m.

what you need to do

1) Communicate to current group members who will be joining your group (if applicable).

  • They DO NOT need to register.

  • They should save the date and plan to attend your group’s launch night.

  • Share logistics with them (template email provided below).

Thursday, February 7 (Thursday Evening Groups)
Sunday, February 10 (Sunday, Monday, and All Morning Groups)

2) Communicate with new group members.

  • New Group Member Registration opens on January 16 and closes on February 1.

  • Your group will remain online until registration closes or your group fills.

  • If your group roster has any changes throughout the day, we’ll send you one updated roster that evening. Your roster will not include any current group members you listed in your Leader Registration.

  • We encourage you to reach out to new group members each week leading up to your launch night (see templates below).

First Email - Welcome
Send the week of January 16–23.
When you get your first roster, welcome your group members using this email template. If only a few people have registered, email each person individually (using the same email template, without the “reply all”).

Second Email - Get to Know You
Send the week of January 27–February 1. (Registration closes February 1.)
Using this second email template, start a conversation with the group a few days before Group Launch. Be sure to welcome any new members that joined after you sent the first email as well as any current group members (if applicable).

Third Email – Group Member Logistics
Send two days before your Group Launch night.
We have provided a template for the Group Member Logistics Email. Send this to all group members to provide logistical details about the launch event.

As we get closer to launch week, we’ll send you a Leader Logistics Email that will include parking information and your table number (which you can share with your group members to help them find you in the Auditorium).

3) Review the study.
We’ll help your group experience a typical group meeting that night by providing every member with a copy of Circle Up. Leaders will receive their copies when they check in. 

  • In the meantime, download this PDF of pages 10–12 of Circle Up.

  • Be prepared to lead your group through this first study, as you will be discussing it together.

how group launch will work

Leaders Arrive: 7:00 p.m.
Doors Open: 7:30 p.m.

At the Group Launch, we’ll help you create an environment where it’s fun and easy for your group to get going. When your group members arrive, they’ll head straight to your table once the doors open at 7:30 p.m..

We’ll help your group experience a typical meeting in three phases:

  1. Connect – We’ll serve appetizers and provide name tags and fun icebreakers for easy, informal social connection.

  2. Learn – We’ll share a vision for groups and a video from Andy Stanley.

  3. Grow – We’ll provide everyone a copy of Circle Up and you will walk your group through the first study.

Of course, we’ll have a Questions Table staffed with helpful volunteers in case you or your group members need anything.

When you arrive:
Leaders check in at 7:00 p.m. Please arrive on time.          

  1. Park in the parking deck underneath the church. If you’ve never parked there before, check out this video.

  2. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Signs will point you in the right direction.

  3. You’ll receive a copy of your updated roster, a name tag, and a Circle Up study guide.

  4. We’ll give you a name tag and your copy of the Circle Up study guide.

We’ll take you to the Auditorium, where we’ll walk you through our plan for the evening.

What should I wear?

Wear something that’s comfortable for you. We won’t have T-shirts for leaders or staff, but we will provide you with a name tag that indicates you’re a leader.


After the launch

  • Your group's first study will be Circle Up. You can find it on the Anthology app. Check out our Circle Up page to find more information about making the most of your first group study.

  • We’ll be reaching out on Wednesday, February 13, to see if you’d like to post your group online (if you still need to add a few members). We’ll leave it open for one week (February 18–25) and send you a final roster with any additions.
